Answer:

The Weimar Republic, was not well received by its own people largely because of the terms it was forced to accept after Germany's defeat at the end of the First World War.

Explanation:

Reasons for failure of the Weimar Republic:

Politically Weimar Republic was fragile.

The Weimar constitution had some inherent defects which made it unstable and at risk to dictatorship.

One was proportional representation. There were unsuccessful coalition rules.

Another defect was Article 48, which gave the President powers to impose emergency, suspend civil rights and rule by decree. Article 48 was misused.

Within its short life Weimar Republic saw twenty different cabinets. Yet the crisis could not be managed.

People lost confidence in the democratic parliamentary system which seemed to offer no solutions to their problems and hardships.  The Weimar Republic failed to solve the the acute economic and political crises of the time.
