It is the process of change of state from solid to liquid. ... while latent heatof vaporization is the amount of heat required to change phase from liquid to vapour at constant temperature.

latest heat of fusion is the energy required to change the state of mass from soild to liquid when the mass is at the change state temperature. so if we have a piece of ice let's say 10kg at0c we have to supply energy of about 3330 Ki to energy it's for soild to liquital 0c
