Life has many variables to answer about any question absolutely, however let me try to address this question.
It highly depends on which IIT and IIIT you are comparing.
If you are comparing IIIT-Hyderabad with the old IITs it still stands equal to them.
But based on your choices IIT or IIIT-H might be greater.
Social life: IITs win
Coding culture: Hands down, IIIT-Hyderabad wins! Because this institute has a great competitive programming culture.
Rankings: we cannot compare IIIT-H with other IIT's because they have many branches while this college has only two. So research in others will surely be higher.
If comparison is between newer IIT and IIIT-Hyderabad, IIIT-HYDERABAD wins any day!
