What the difference between element, compound, heterogeneous, and homogeneous?

Element = an element is a substance which cannot be spilt up into two or more simpler substance by the usual chemical method.

Example : Copper is an element made up of only one Copper element.

Compound = a compound is a substance made up of two or more elements chemically combined in a fixed proportion by mass.

Example : H2O

Homogeneous mixture = those mixture in which substance are completely mixed together called homogeneous mixture.

Example : sugar solution.

Heterogeneous mixture = those mixture in which substance remain seperate and one substance is spread throughout the other substance as small particle, droplets or bubble, called heterogeneous mixture.

Example : chalk and water mixture.
