Homogeneous regions associate units with the same or similar characteristics. In the homogeneous region its parts are comparable according to the selected criterion (for example cities with a certain number of residents, families with children, seniors, people working in health care, agriculture, etc.). Individual characteristics may interact (unemployment and average income) or can be completely or almost independent on each other (education and hair color). These defined regions can variously rapidly change borders. The main feature of homogeneous region is thus the homogeneity (sameness) within the examined characteristics.
