Answer:

The distance between the two parallel tangents to a circle will be it's diameter

So the distance will be, diameter =2r

=10

Hence, The distance will be 10 cm between two parallel tangents....

Given,

A circle of radius, 5 cm and two parallel tangents.

To find,

The distance between the two parallel tangents.

Solution,

The distance between the two parallel tangents will be 10 cm.

We can easily solve this problem by following the given steps.

We know that tangents are the perpendicular lines passing through touching a point on the circumference of the circle. Now, if two tangents are parallel then it means that they are at the two extreme ends of the diameter.

And we know that the diameter of the circle is twice that of its radius.

d = 2×radius

d = 2×5

d = 10 cm

Hence, the distance between the two parallel tangents is 10 cm.
