if u don't know what the figures of speech are then let me tell u..

figures of speech are the poetic device used to compose a poem.

simile is one such device used in the above poem.

in simile one thing is compared with other directly.... there is comparison between 2 things using words such as ' as , like '

eg. life is like an ice cream.

here life is compared with ice cream directly using word like.
