During the first visit to his science teacher, Sivasubramania Iyer’s house, Kalam was not welcomed and treated warmly by the teacher’s wife. She was hesitant to serve Kalam meal in the kitchen as he was a Muslim. Not minding it, the teacher himself served Kalam the meal.  

However, when the teacher invited Kalam the next week for dinner, the teacher’s wife treated Kalam very warmly and served him the food with her own hands.
