What torque will increase angular velocity of a solid cylinder of mass 16 kg and diameter 1 m from zero to 120 rpm in 8 s? ​

Mass of Cylinder = 16 kg

Diameter = 1 m

Time = 8 sec

Formula Used :-

 \alpha  =  \frac{2\pi(n2 - n1)}{t}

I = 1/2 mr²

So the answer is π M - m

Process :-

  • At first we found out the value of n using the formula I = 1/2 mr² .
  • We got value of n = 2 kg-m² .
  • Now we put the value of n in 2nd formula 2π ( n2 - n1) / t .
