Toto would get a large bowl of warm water during winter evenings where he would cunningly test the temperature with his hands and step into the bowl gradually one foot after the other. He would soak in until the water reached his neck and rub soap all over himself and have a nice bath. Once the water would get cold, he would get out of the bowl quickly and go to the kitchen fire to dry himself.
