• Humans have heterodont type of
teeth..

• There are mainly 4 types:
- incisors
-canines
-molars
-premolars

•Thecodont type of teeth : teeth which are located within a socket !

• Diphydont type : grows twice in life.

☞20 teeth are diphyodont.
☞ 12 teeth are monophyodont.

☆ DENTAL FORMULA:

* up-to 6 years of age :

I = 2/2
C = 1/1
PM = 0/0
M = 2/2

=5*2/5*2=10/10
Hence 20 teeth.

* Up-to 17 yrs of age :

I= 2/2
C =1/1
PM= 2/2
M = 2/2

= 7*2/7*2
= 14/14
Hence, 28 teeth

* adult :

I= 2/2
C= 1/1
PM= 2/2
M= 3/3

☞Plz note :
I= incisors
C=Canines
Pm= premolars
M =molars

Hope it helps
