Question :- What type of a quadrilateral is formed by connecting the four vertices of the regular octagon ?

Solution :-

From image we can see that :-

1) HADE, GHCD, ABEF and BCFG are rectangles.

  • Opposite sides are equal and meets at 90° .

2) HABG, HABC, BCDE, ABCD, DEFG, EFGH and FGHA are Trapezium .

  • One of the opposite sides are parallel and unequal.

Therefore , we can conclude that, with four vertices of the regular octagon only Trapeziums and rectangles are formed.
