The economic conditions in Russia, before 1905 was quite regressive. For instance, population in Russia got doubled and the economic condition got worsened. Unemployment was common and workers were paid very low. Through the action of Tsar of participating in the World War, the treasury became bankrupt. The nobles and the clergy were exempted from the taxes while the poor peasants were burdened with more taxes. Foreign investment caused the industrial development, therefore, industrialists wanted to maximize their profit at the expense of workers. And the bad condition of the economy gets worsened with Russia's defeat in the Russo-Japanese war.
