ionic bond is formed
because here transfer of electron takes place

the bond between hydrogen and chlorine is a covalent bond because hydrogen have 1 electrons in valence shell and chlorine have 7 electrons in valence shell so they both want to achieve noble connature
tion... figuration for this they have to attend 8electrons in the valence shell or two electrons in their valence shell

show both of them hydrogen and chlorine shares their electrons to achieve noble gas configuration so now hydrogen have 2 electrons in the valence shell and chlorine have 8 electron in the valence shell now both elements are satisfied and achieved noble gas configuration..

hydrogen does not loses electron but its shares its electron with chlorine to get stable in nature
