As the world is becoming more advanced and new things are coming up so students should be kept updated about the new innovations and about the changing trends in the world.

As a teacher the learning process should not stop and teachers like students should also keep learning new things so that they can teach their students something new every day.

If you teach students what is in the books then that is not enough in today's world you need to teach students what is going in practical life so that they know how to function in this fast-paced world.

Above all as a teacher I would like to teach students self-confidence which is the most needed thing in today's world and which is often ignored at school and also I want to help children know how to talk to people and in what way they communicate to people so that they leave a lasting impact on the other person.

They should be given motivation classes so that they study properly and think of studying as something they need and should take interest in studying rather than just studying it for the sake of a duty.

I would also start a students’ club where students and teachers would meet weekly or fortnightly to exchange their views and latest development. I would try to create a very creative and progressive learning environment for my students. I would always be on the lookout to adopt and adapt the newest and latest methodologies and strategies to give my students the best of learning.

I would never stop learning myself. So I would set very high standards in front of my students to emulate one another. This would create a wonderful ripple effect. And all my students would blossom into the best of scientists, thinkers, writers, philosophers, and wonderful human beings.

I would instill in them the value of self-studies. I would make a students’ help website to help them outside the class. I would also rope in other like-minded dedicated teachers to provide enough study and extra material for studies and subject enrichment.

Hope it helps!

Teachers have a big role to play in the time we are in. But unfortunately in countries like India, teaching has become a profession, just a mere profession. Now thats the catch. With teachers having a big role in shaping a child's future right from the childhood, so teaching is really more than just delivering lectures or taking assignments. It is a matter of misfortune that teachers are too self centred these days - my family time, my boundaries, my own son or daughter, my part time business, my research, my fame, my friends and at last when every other “my” need is met, comes the poor students. That is contradictory to what really used to be at some olden days. With students also changing with the changing times, its necessary that teachers go through an overhaul. In my opinion, the changes I believe should be taken up by teachers are...

  1. Have more emotional intelligence, try understanding students' psyche better to get them motivated towards a career goal.
  2. Upgrade yourself to the latest in your domain. The age old yellow turned copies and notesheets do not work anymore.
  3. Use technology to upgrade and uplift yourself as well as students.
  4. Try inducing better morales into the students' minds. Do not stick to prejudices, beliefs and superstitions that you know to be there in the society.
  5. Promote progressive mindset development in students with respect to relationships, daily affairs, politics or socio-economic affairs.
