we know, oxidation state of Na+ ion is +1 and oxidation state of Mg2+ ion is +2 so, when NaCl is doped with MgCl2, each Mg2+ ion replace two Na+ ions to maintain electrical neutrality.
here, one site is occurred by Mg2+ ion while the other remains vacent.
Thus, cation vacancies are occurred in Crystal.
therefore , crystal produced
hence, answer : impurity defect is produced when NaCl is doped with MgCl2.

When NaCl is dipped into th MgCl2 then impurity defect cause the crystal defect , because the in the mixture of solution cause to produced many types ions. The Na+ ions moves towards the Mg+2 ions so here NaCl The Na+ ions moves towards Cl- and become a neural compound whereas the Mg+2 ions unstable compound to combine with Cl-1 ions .
