while,

22/7 is a non - terminating decimal

it's value is 3.14285714285714.... \infty .

The decimal expansion of an irrational number is non - terminating or non - repeating.

Ex :- √2 = 1.4141421356237309....

Therefore the decimal expansion of rational is both terminating or non - terminating but the decimal expansion of irrational is non - terminating.
