TYPES OF MIRROR :-

i) Plane Mirror

• m = +1

• It always virtual and erect.

• The size of image is equal to that of the object.

• Image is laterally inverted.

ii) Spherical Mirror

• Magnification: m = -v/u

• Mirror formula : 1/f = 1/v + 1/u

• Obeys a set of sign convention rules for u,v and f.

Now, Spherical Mirrors having two types :-

i) Concave Mirror

• Silvered at outer surface

• Reflecting surface curved inward.  

       and

ii)  Convex mirror

• Silvered at inner surface.

• Reflecting surface curved outward.

TYPE OF MIRROR COULD BE USED IN THE FOLLOWING :-

I) As a shaving mirror :- CONCAVE MIRROR.

II) As a shop security mirror​ :- CONVEX MIRROR.
