When Metals React With Oxygen

  • There is formation of the basic oxide
  • For Example:- Na + O2 -----> Na2O
  • Na2O is a base as it dissolves in water and produce NaOH

When Non Metal Reacts With Oxygen

  • There is formation of the acidic oxide
  • For Example ;- N + O2 --------> NO2
  • NO2 is a acid.
