Shylock is the antagonist and a tragic character in William Shakespeare'sThe Merchant of Venice. A Jewishmerchant living in a Christian city, he comes across as greedy, jealous and vengeful. As opposed to his anti-Semitic nemesis and fellowbusinessman, Antonio, Shylock charges interest on his loans.

Shylock(The Merchant Of Venice.)is a greedy moneylender.Money to him means his world.In some scenes he seems kind to lend out 3000 ducats to Antonio but he shows off his fake side.Shortly,he is a Harsh-hearted,merciless and greedy moneylender.
