Good question!!

First know about Types of quantities!!

On the basis of Magnitude and Directions the quantities are two types:-

1) Scalar quantity:- The quantity having mass but no direction is called scalar quantity.

Eg:- Time,area,length,mass etc.

2) Vector quantity:- The quantity having both magnitude and direction as well as follow the vector's law of addition and subtraction is called vector quantity.

Now ,from above definition we can see that:-

*Time :- It has magnitude only but no direction hence,it is a Scalar

quantity.

* Area:- it has magnitude but no direction hence it is also a Scalar quantity.

* Force :- It has both magnitude and direction hence ,it is vector quantity.
