Alluvial soil is found in the delta of rivers like Mahanadi, Godavari, Krishna and Kaveri, on the eastern coastal plains.
- Features of the alluvial soil are:-
- It contains different proportion of sand, silt and clay.
- It is very fertile and good for growth of wheat, paddy, sugar cane, pulses etc.
- It contain right proportion of potash, lime and phosphoric acid.
- In drier regions like Rajasthan, it is alkaline and require proper treatment for irrigation.
