Features:
1) The alluvial soil contains various amounts of sand, silt and clay. 
2) These soils contain ample quantity of phosphoric acid, potash and lime which are helpful in the growth of paddy, wheat sugarcane and other cereal and pulse crops.
3) Lands of alluvial soils are largely cultivated and thickly populated due to its rich fertility.

Alluvial soil is found in the deltas of rivers like Mahanadi, Godavari, Krishna and Kaveri, on the eastern coastal plains.

Features of the alluvial soil are:-

It contains different proportion of sand, silt and clay.

It is very fertile and good for growth of wheat,paddy,sugar cane,pulses etc.

It contain right proportion of potash,lime and phosphoric acid.

In drier regions like Rajasthan, it is alkaline and require proper treatment for irrigation.
