Alluvial soil is found in the river deltas of the eastern coast. it's three main features are-

1. consists of various proportion of sand, silt and clay.

2. the region there is densely populated.

3. ideal for growing paddy,sugarcane and other cereals.

Alluvial soil is found in the deltas of rivers like Mahanadi, Godavari, Krishna and Kaveri, on the eastern coastal plains.

Features of the alluvial soil are:-

It contains different proportion of sand, silt and clay.

It is very fertile and good for growth of wheat,paddy,sugar cane,pulses etc.

It contain right proportion of potash,lime and phosphoric acid.

In drier regions like Rajasthan, it is alkaline and require proper treatment for irrigation.
