We have to write the type of straight lines will be represented by the system of equations 2x + 3y = 5 and 4x + 6y = 7.

solution : here equations of straight lines are ;

2x + 3y = 5 ....(1)

4x + 6y = 7 .....(2)

i.e., a₁ = 2 , b₁ = 3 and c₁ = 5

and a₂ = 4, b₂ = 6 and c = 7

Here, a₁/a₂ = 2/4 = 1/2

b₁/b₂ = 3/6 = 1/2

c₁/c₂ = 5/7

we see, a₁/a₂ = b₁/b₂ ≠ c₁/c₂. It means both the straight lines are parallel to each other.

Hence these two equations of lines are parallel to each other.
