in Himalayan region comparatively low temperatures are found as compared to plains because they are on altitudes greater than plains

with increase in altitude ,temperature decrease

The climate ranges from the tropical at the base of the mountain to permanent ice and snow at the highest elevations .The amount of yearly rainfall increases from the west to the east along the southern front of the range.
