Binary fission. It is a form of asexual reproduction, meaning only one parent cell is required for reproducing. Basically, firstly there is one parent cell. Slowly, a constriction is formed along the middle of the amoeba and continues to get bigger. Then the nucleus splits into two, each part occupying each portion of the amoeba which has been divided by the constriction. Then the amoeba cell splits and forms two daughter cells and each of those cells undergo same process for further reproduction. It is called binary due to only two daughter cells being formed.
