There is decrease in energy when it transfers from plants to Apex or tertiary consumer.

Explanation:

This is so because of 10% law.

Plants only absorb 1% of energy falling on Earth and use it for making food then whenever the next trophic level eats it only 10% of that energy is used for development and rest are wasted.This transfer of 10% is constant.

Hence the amount of energy reduces during transfer from plants to Apex consumers.
