there are three types of lakes:-

1) Fresh water lake - These lakes are mainly found in the coastal region. eg- wular lake

2) Salt water lake - These lakes are mainly found in the coastal regions. eg- chilika lake,sambar lake.

3) Man made lake - Rivers dams for generating hydroelectricity. eg - Their dam, Bhakra nangal dam.
