The trees, forests, bushes and the grasses that grows themselves are known as natural vegetation. Natural vegetation depends upon the land and the climate. The main types of natural vegetation in Nepal are given below:
Sub-Tropical Evergreen forest: this type of natural vegetation is found from the northern Terai to Chure range. The main trees are sal, teak, sisau,cane. Bamboo and elephant grass is also grow here.
Temperate Deciduous forests: this type of natural vegetation is found in the Hilly region north to the Sub-Tropical Evergreen forest. Pine, beech, elm, rhododendron are found here
Temperate coniferous Evergreen forest: this type of natural vegetation grows in Mahabharat ranges. The trees here are cones. Pine, fir, oak are found here.
Alpine vegetation: this type of natural vegetation grows in the Himalayan region where the climate is cold and dry throughout the year. There are no tall trees here.
Tundra vegetation: it is found in the higher Himalayan which is covered with snow. Only moss and lichen grow here.
