The gift will help Habitat build 60,000 homes around the globe. That’s why both types of planning would be of equal importance.Because to accomplish HFH’s objectives, long term planning would be implemented which wouldbe strategic and directional because to make use of this huge donation, Top management would have to play their roles. Because acquiring sufficient land, constructing 60,000 homes and attracting peers to allocate donations for the organization’s project and motivating the staff to acquire desired results would be a big challenge for Managers. And it would require long term planning. In the long term, companies want to solve problems permanently and to reach their overall targets. Long-term planning reacts to the competitive situation of the company in its social, economic and political environment and develops strategies for adapting and influencing its position to achieve long-term goals. It examines major capital expenditures such as purchasing equipment and facilities, and implements policies and procedures that shape the company's profile to match top management's ideas. When short-term and medium-term planning is successful, long-term planning builds on those achievements to preserve accomplishments and ensure continued progress. While we can’t neglect short term planning also because Top managers would have to allocate the funds for dividing tasks to accomplish long term goals. It would be easier for them to allocateor assign short term goals and this planning would be of specific and operational nature becausemiddle and first line managers would have play their role to accomplish short terms goals.
