Punctuation is the art of using the marks,Stops or points in the correct places of composition .The following are the principal stop : 

1)Full stop(.) : it is used at the end of a statement or imperative sentance or after abbervations and initials..

2)Comma(,): it is used as the shortest pause between words..

3)Semicolon(;): it is used as the longger pause than that of the comma.

4)colon(:) : it shows a shorter pause than a full  stop but a longer pausse than a semicolon..

5)inverted commas("  ") :  they are used tto enclose the exact words used  by speaker..

6)Interrogation(?): used after a direct question as what are you doing?

7)Exclamation(!): it is used after words which express anger ,surprise,joy,sorrow,orany other sudden emotion...
