What types of snakes live in the Desert ?
Answers
Answer:
All types of snake, including rattlesnakes, adders, vipers, boas, and cobras, live in deserts worldwide. Snakes do well in this environment due to their cold-blooded nature, the ability to eat only once every couple of weeks, and the ability to conserve and absorb water from different sources.
Answer:
Two of the most beautiful (and terrifying) snakes in the world are desert dwellers.
This is the Inland Taipan from Australia
This pretty reptile is extremely aggressive and venomous. I think it's the second or third most venomous snake on the planet.
This next one is a Sidewinder, or Horned Rattlesnake, from North America
It's markings are lovely. This snake is particularly scary because it is so very fast. It can slither at up to 30k.p.h. (which is just under 20 m.p.h. in its native measurement system.) It has to be quick as food is pretty scarce in the desert where it lives so it has to be able to cover a lot of ground very quickly. I think its a kind of viper.
