Specimen which cannot be seen with naked eye can be observed under microscope. Though there are different kind of microscopes used depending upon the resolution and image we required. For example, viruses are so small that they can only be seen with Electron microscope.

Different microscopes have different resolution or magnifying powers depends upon the lenses used in them. Lens are responsible to give us different image of species.
