He was a poor peddler who went about selling rattraps for a living and did some petty thievery on the side to make ends meet. Once, while thinking about his rattraps, he formulated an interesting philosophy that proclaimed that the whole world, or life as we know it, is nothing but a giant rattrap. It tempts the innocent people with joys, riches and happiness and once one attains these goals, it closes on him, and everything comes to an end. He liked to think about this philosophy in his leisure time.
