The movement around the Himalayan places there are mostly tribal people have been settled and after some years traders came there for wood and they started cutting trees and the tribal people were stopping them and fighting against them. and covering the trees by hugging them 
this movement is called chipko movement.

Chipko movement was launched by the people of Himalaya in which they hugged the trees so as to protect them from getting cut. The values it imports is that the local people can play a great role in saving the forests , our lifelines through their struggle and co operation
