What volume of air is needed for the combustion of 1 metre³ of a gas having the
following composition in percentage volume :
50% of H2,
35% of CH4,
8% of CO,
2% of C2H4,
and 5% of noncombustible admixture?

Holla ‼️

the volume will be directly proportional to mole

therefore interms of volume

volume of H2=.5m3

volume of CH4=.35m3

volume of co=.08m3

volume of C2H4=.06m3

equation

H2 + 1/2O2 -----H2O

CH4 + 2O2------CO2 + 2H2O

CO +1/2O2 ----CO2

C2H4 + 3O2 -----2CO2 + 2H2O

THerefore the volume of O2 required is =.25 +.7+.04+.06 m3

volume of air is.25 +.7+.04+.06 m3*100/21 =5m3

I hope it will help you ‼️
