Answer:-

  • Volume of air expelled is 28.5 cm³.

Given:-

  • Initial volume of vessel (Vi) = 400cm³

  • Initial temperature of vessel (Ti) = 7°C = 273 +7 = 280K

  • Final temperature of vessel (Tf) = 27°C = 300K

To Find:-

  • Final volume of vessel (Vf) = ??

or

  • Volume of air that will be expelled from the vessel .

Formula used:-

Charles law i.e V1/T1 = V2/T2

Solution:-

By using Charles law , we have

=> Vi/Ti = Vf/Tf

=> 400/280 = Vf/300

=> 40/28 = Vf/300

=> 10/7 = Vf/300

=> 10 × 300/7 = Vf

=> 428.5 = Vf

Now:-

Volume of air expelled = Vf - Vi

Volume of air expelled = 428.5 - 400 cm³

Volume of air expelled = 28.5 cm³.

Therefore:-

Volume of air expelled is 28.5 cm³.
