What volume of gas at stp would be needed to prepare 100ml of 2.5 molal (2.5m) ammonium hydroxide solution?

SOLUTION

</u><u>M</u><u>olarity \:  =  \frac{no. \:of \: moles \: of \: solute}{volume \: of \: the \: \: solution \: in \: </u><u>L</u><u>}

 =  &gt; 2.5 =  \frac{number \: of \: moles}{0.1}

No. of moles= 2.5× 0.1 = 0.25

1 mole of any gas occupies 22.4 L at STP

0.25 mole occupy = 22.4/2/1× 0.25

=) 5.6L
