TOPIC :- MOLE CONCEPT

Concept :- In a reaction, stoichiometric coefficients plays an important role in deciding what amount of reactants will react with particular amount of reactant.

For example :- aA + bB -> cC + dD

Here, a moles of A will react with b moles of B.

Also, 1 mole of an ideal gas occupies a volume of 22.4 l at NTP

SOLUTION TO THE QUESTION

The reaction can be represented as :- (Note that it is Haber's process for synthesizing ammonia).

3H2 + N2 -----> 2NH3.

1 mole of N2 reacts with 3 moles H2

=> Given, moles of N2 = 2.8/28 = 0.1

=>0.1 mole of N2 react with 0.3 mole H2.

0.3 mole H2 occupies 22.4 × 0.3 = 6.72 l

Hence, Volume of H2 will be 6.72 litre.
