What volume of water is required to make
0.2 M solution from 16 ml of a 0.5 M
solution ?​

Explanation:For all dilution problems use the dilution equation:  

M1V1 = M2V2  

0.2M*V1 = 0.5*16  

V1 = 0.5*16/0.2  

V1 = 40mL  

The final volume must be 40mL. Yoiu have 16mL  to start  

Therefore you must add 40-16 = 24mL
