Ashoka's Dhamma is a policy laid down by the Great Ashoka, the Emperor of Mauryan dynasty and grandson of Chandragupta. * Ashoka wrote inscriptions on Buddha's teaching about Dhamma and spread them throughout the globe by his messengers.According to Ashoka Dhamma was based on religious tolerance, respect to elders, care for the old ones, kindness towards the needy, purity and truthfulness , no Killing of animals. He said no to violence. He adopted the path of nonviolence & he gave up war.
