BENGAL SCHOOL OF ART: In the early twentieth century. Abanindranath Tagore began a new style of painting. which is called the Bengal School of Art. This style was influenced by Indian folk art, the Ajanta cave paintings, the Mughal and Rajasthani miniatures, and Japanese art as well.

►Rabindranath Tagore a keen artist himself, set up the Kala Bhavan at Shantiniketan to promote an interest in art among his students. The Bengal School of art fluorishd here.
