Ustad Bismillah Khan (21 March 1916 – 21 August 2006) (conceived as Qamaruddin Khan), frequently alluded to by the honorific title Ustad, was an Indian performer credited with advancing the shehnai, a subcontinental twist instrument of the oboe class.
