Why was Pluto very lonely?
Answers
Answer:
Well, I haven't learnt greek and roman legends in school, but because of Percy Jackson, I will hopefully be able to answer your question
Explanation:
Ceres is the Roman goddess of agriculture. She and Jupiter had a daughter, Proserpine together. She was a nature lover and especially loved flowers. She spent the days roaming meadows and plucking flowers and fruits
Now Pluto was the god of the underworld. He, understandably, was lonely because all he had to do was look after the dead. When he set his sight upwards, he saw the beautiful Persephone and fell in love.
Then he kidnapped her and brought her to the underworld. Meanwhile, Ceres got mad that her daughter went missing and searched for her everywhere. When she finally found out where Proserpine was, Proserpine had eaten one third of a pomogranette, because of which she couldn't leave.
Then Vesta suggested that since Proserpine ate one third, she would remain for that long in the underworld and rest would be spent above. When she is in the underworld, Ceres loses it and nothing grows. This period is winter time.
The answer is kinda long, but hope you found what you were looking for.
