Santosh Yadav was born in a family of 5 sons. From her early years, she decided to not work or do things as the society but change it. So, while other girls of her age work traditional Indian dresses, she wore shorts. She wanted to study in Delhi but had to make do with the village school due to the prevailing system of the family. She decided to fight the system in her own way whenever she found an opportunity. The right moment came when she turned 16. At this age most of the village girls were married off but Santosh refused to marry until she got proper education.
