Chandragupta II was  one of the powerful ruler of Gupta Empire. He was the son of Samudragupta, the previous ruler of Gupta Empire. He is commonly known as Vikramaditya .

He was the great ruler. He destroyed the power of the shakas of Malwa, Gujarat and Saurashtra. By destoying them, he assumed the title 'Shakari'
