  • The ‘National convention’ was the “first government” of Revolution of French, and after the two-years the “National Constituent Assembly” and the “one-year assembly” created after “the great rebellion” on 10 August 1792, and it was the 1st French government to be held as a republic, who completely abandoned the monarchy.
  • The convention was seated in the form of a “single-chamber assembly” from the 20th September 1792 to 26th October 1795. In the latest elections held in 1792, all men 21 and older, including the poor, were given the vote right.
  • After the elections, the newly elected Legislative Assembly came to be known as the National Convention On September 21, 1792, it ended the constitutional monarchy and declared France as a republic.
