Under the Inland Emigration Act of 1859, plantation workers were not permitted to leave the tea gardens without permission. In reality, they were rarely given such permission.

Hope this helps:)

The Immigration and Asylum Act 1999(c 33) is an Act of Parliament of theUnited Kingdom. It followed a 1998 government white paper entitled "Fairer, Faster And Firmer – A Modern Approach To Immigration And Asylum". Its main aim was to create a faster system to deal with a backlog of cases.
