Read R K Narayan's Swami and Friends over the weekend. I have read it once before when I was 12. It evoked different kinds of feelings then. May be I was able to empathize with the 10 year old Swami like only a child could. I remember enjoying the book immensely.
Now, several years older, I find the book several times more delightful. The book brings alive the world of a young, mischievous, yet very innocent child. The book is set in the pre-independence times. But children are just the same always
